The Wages of Fear (1953)

One of my Dad’s favorite film stories is seeing Wages of Fear at the movies when it was first released. He said it shook-up quite a few audience members.

Is it Noir? I’ll bite, sure. 🙂

The Véra Clouzot cameo in this film bring Les Diaboliques to mind. Another great H-G Clouzot film.

It’s a masterwork, that’s for sure. Personally, I find it a bit more of an action film, but honestly, I could go either way on it, especially since there is a subtle crime element if I recall (isn’t it implied that one of the drivers killed someone to get the gig?).
