I know i am skating a bit outside the lines, but I became very interested in the film photography of Otto Heller through three films which all gave me noir vibes.
First, Richard III by Laurence Olivier. The use of shadows.
Similarly in a comedic film: The Ladykillers shadow here and low curb shots of automobiles
Basil Dearden’s Victim, similar to Ladykillers.
These three films also involve secrecy and deception.
Thoughts?

Heller’s work is excellent. He shot many of the films featured on this site (you can search by his name on the Search & Explore page). Of the three films you mention, I would say “Victim” is definitely noir-adjacent at least.
